My retirement investment strategy
by Robert

My retirement investment strategy is based on achieving a return from both dividend income and capital appreciation.
I am using both an ISA as well as a SIPP to shelter my investment portfolio from tax. I have been buying shares for almost ten years, particularly during the dips, and I have now a retirement investment portfolio valued over half a million pounds.
I am very much a ‘buy and hold’ investor. I look for shares which I can buy and hold even after I retire in ten or fifteen years time.
I look for companies with a history of rising earnings and dividends. By the time I retire, I expect that the dividends will have grown to a point where I'll be able to draw a substantial income from my dividends rather than from selling any shares.
Thank you for launching this website which I am sure will assist people to get a better understanding on how to retire in relative comfort.
